How to Send an Instagram Story to Someone on Telegram

Share a public Instagram story in a Telegram chat, even with a friend who has no Instagram: send a link with @instanavy_bot or forward the video itself.

How do you send an Instagram story to someone on Telegram?

There are two ways. To send a link, type @instanavy_bot, a space and the account's username in any Telegram chat, then tap the card that appears: your friend gets a link that opens that account's current stories in a browser, with no Instagram account needed. To send one particular story, open the bot's app, tap Send on that story so the photo or video lands in your chat with the bot, and forward it. Both work only with public accounts.

Which one to use depends on what you want your friend to see. A link is quick and shows everything the account has up right now. A forwarded file is the exact story you watched, and it stays in the chat after the story is gone from Instagram.

Why Instagram's own share button often isn't enough

Instagram lets you send a story to someone with the paper-plane button, but it is built for sharing inside Instagram. A few things get in the way when the person you want to show it to lives in Telegram:

  • Your friend needs Instagram. The story arrives as an Instagram message, so someone without an account can't receive it at all.
  • Links hit a login screen. If you copy a link and your friend opens it in a browser while logged out, Instagram usually asks them to log in before showing much.
  • The owner can switch sharing off. Accounts can turn off sharing their stories to messages, and then the option isn't there.
  • It doesn't last. A shared story is tied to the original, so it stops showing once the story expires.

None of this is a problem if your friend is already chatting with you on Instagram. It matters when the conversation, or the group, is on Telegram.

Telegram bots can answer right inside the chat you are typing in. This is called inline mode, and it means you don't have to leave the conversation to share a profile.

  1. Open the chat where you want to share: a private chat, a group, or Saved Messages.
  2. In the message field, type @instanavy_bot, a space and the username, for example @instanavy_bot nasa. The @ before the username is optional, and you need at least two characters.
  3. A card appears above the message field. It reads "@nasa stories" with the line "Anonymous — tap to open". Tap it.
  4. Telegram posts a message that says "@nasa's stories:" followed by a link to that account's page on storiesfly.com, with an Open button underneath. Like every inline message, it is marked "via @instanavy_bot".

If no card appears after you type, open @instanavy_bot and send the username there instead. The bot replies with the account's newest story and a button that opens the rest inside Telegram, and from there you can send your friend the file as described in the next section.

Send the story file instead of a link

A link points to an account, not to a single story. When you want your friend to see one specific story, or the story is about to expire, send the file.

  1. Open the bot and tap Open App, or send it the username and tap the button it replies with. The app is the same StoriesFly app as the website, running inside Telegram (more on how the Mini App works). It works in the Telegram apps on your phone or computer and in Telegram Web in a browser.
  2. Open the account's stories and find the one you want.
  3. Tap Send. Inside Telegram the Download button is called Send, and the photo or video arrives as a message in your chat with the bot. "Send to Telegram" with a number next to it sends all of the account's current stories at once.
  4. Forward that message to your friend or group: long-press it on a phone, or right-click it on a computer, and choose Forward.

The same Send button works for highlights and for posts and reels you open in the app's downloader. For a single reel or post there is a shorter way: paste its link into the bot chat, and the bot sends the video or photo back, ready to forward.

Two size limits apply. Videos larger than 50 MB are not sent, and photos larger than 10 MB arrive as a file rather than a photo.

For a quick "look at this account", the link is enough. For "look at this story" when there is any chance your friend opens it tomorrow, forward the file.

The link opens the account's page on storiesfly.com in a browser: the profile, its current stories and its highlights. Your friend does not need an Instagram account or a StoriesFly account to watch, and StoriesFly never asks anyone for an Instagram login.

Visitors who aren't signed in can make a limited number of requests per hour. If your friend runs into that, signing in with Telegram, an emailed code or Google gives them the free daily allowance on their own account.

Because no Instagram account is used to load the stories, neither you nor your friend appears in the owner's viewer list. The page is part of the same anonymous story viewer anyone can use on the website. There is a longer guide on watching Instagram stories without an account if they want to keep using it.

Public accounts only, and stories expire

A private account's stories can be seen only by people the owner has approved, however you try to share them. StoriesFly works with public accounts only. Its paid Private Viewer does not change that: it sends a follow request from a StoriesFly account, and nothing is visible unless the owner accepts.

If you are waiting for a private account to open up, the free "Tell me when it goes public" alert re-checks it about once a week for up to six months and sends you a Telegram message if it does.

Stories disappear from Instagram after 24 hours, and after that a shared link no longer shows them. What stays:

  • Highlights. They stay on the profile until the owner removes them, so you can link to them or send them the same way as stories.
  • Files you forwarded. They stay in the chat like any other message.
  • The StoriesFly archive. Stories that were loaded through StoriesFly while they were live are kept for up to 30 days, and reopening them after they expire is a paid feature on Pro. It only covers stories someone opened through StoriesFly in time, not every story an account ever posted. The story archive guide explains how it works.

On the free plan you get 10 story views, 50 downloads and 5 highlight views a day, with no payment details needed. Basic, from $4.99/month, removes the daily limits on story views and downloads.

Getting your friend their own access

If your friend ends up using the bot too, invite them with /invite in the bot, which gives you an invite link and a "Share with friends" button. If your friend is new to StoriesFly, you both get 7 days of unlimited story views and downloads once they watch their first story, and when they pay for a plan you get 10% of each payment for a year as points. The referral program page has the details.

FAQ

Can I send someone's Instagram story without them knowing?

Sharing through @instanavy_bot happens in Telegram, and your own Instagram account is never used to load the story, so you don't appear in the owner's viewer list. Watching and sharing through Instagram's own app does put you in the viewer list.

Can my friend watch it without an Instagram account?

Yes. The inline link opens a web page and a forwarded file plays in Telegram, and neither needs Instagram. Visitors who aren't signed in have a limited number of requests per hour.

The link keeps opening the account's page, but it only shows the stories that are live when your friend opens it. If you want a particular story to last, forward the file instead.

Can I share a story from a private account?

No. Private stories are visible only to followers the owner has approved, and StoriesFly works with public accounts only.

Is it free?

For occasional sharing, yes. The free plan includes 10 story views, 50 downloads and 5 highlight views a day, and Basic from $4.99/month removes the daily limits on story views and downloads.
