what happens, top to bottomthe file through our server: never

Why nothing goes through usX serves tweet videos and photos from public file links that any IP may open. Our server only has to read the tweet and pass those links on. We relay no video and keep no copy.

How to download a video from Twitter (X)

Four steps. Only the second one runs on our server.

  1. 01Copy the tweet linkIn the X app, tap Share under the tweet and choose Copy link. In a browser, copy the address bar. It looks like x.com/username/status/ followed by a long number; twitter.com and mobile.twitter.com links work the same.
  2. 02Our server reads the tweetSigned out, with no X account. It finds the tweet by its number and gets the list of files X stores for it: the MP4 sizes of each video, and each photo.
  3. 03The files come back as buttonsOne button per video, one per photo. A tweet with four photos gives four buttons. A GIF comes back as a short MP4.
  4. 04Your browser saves the fileThe button opens X's own file link on video.twimg.com or pbs.twimg.com. On a phone the file lands in Downloads or Files; from there you can move it to the gallery.
02What the field takes

Links it takes, input it refuses, files it returns

The field checks the shape of the address. Whether the tweet still exists and is public is up to X.

03Quality

Which size you get, and why

X keeps each tweet video in several MP4 sizes, from 320p up to 1080p for clips that were uploaded that large. The page does not re-encode, resize or upscale anything: you get one of X's own files, with the sound track in it.

Which size: the sharpest MP4 that fits Telegram's 20 MB limit for files sent by link, so the same link works on the site and in our bot. A short clip usually comes in its top size; for a long one that means a lighter file. On @NASA's 46-second video, measured on 26 October 2026, X stored four MP4 sizes and the page handed over 720×1280 at 6.3 MB.

Photos come at original size: the four photos of our test tweet came back at 2048×1152. A GIF on X is a short silent MP4 already, so that is what you get; it plays on any phone and in any messenger.

04Where the file comes from

The file leaves X and arrives at your browser

Our server's part ends once it has read the tweet and passed the file links on. That is also why the download speed is X's, not ours.

What a tweet gives you

These are the answers for the tweets we measured and for the page's own rules. Nothing on our side changes the file between X and your browser, and there is no watermark of ours on it.

On a phone the Telegram bot is often handier: send it the tweet link and the video arrives in the chat, ready to forward or save to the gallery. StoriesFly has the same kind of tools for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, VK, Pinterest, Snapchat, Threads, Facebook and Telegram stories.

What the Twitter downloader cannot hand you

Most of these come from X, not from a setting we could change.

  • 01Protected accounts and deleted tweetsThe page reads tweets signed out, so it sees what anyone without an account sees. A tweet from a protected account, or one that was deleted, gives nothing to download.
  • 02Profiles and SpacesThe field needs a link to one tweet. A profile link such as x.com/username is refused, and audio Spaces are not supported.
  • 03The 1080p file of a long videoThe page hands over the sharpest MP4 under Telegram's 20 MB link limit. For a long clip that is a smaller size than the top one. Nothing is upscaled.
  • 04A tweet with no mediaA text-only tweet has no file, so the page says there is nothing to download. If the video sits in a quoted tweet, paste the link to that tweet.

Twitter (X) video downloads, answered

How do I download a video from a tweet?

Copy the tweet link (Share → Copy link in the app), paste it into the field at the top and press the button. The video comes back as an MP4 with sound, straight from X.

Does it work with x.com links?

Yes. x.com, twitter.com and mobile.twitter.com links all work, as long as they point to one tweet: /username/status/ and the tweet number.

How do I save Twitter videos on iPhone or Android?

Open this page in the phone's browser, paste the link and tap the button; the file goes to Downloads (Files on iPhone), and from there to Photos or the gallery. Or send the link to our Telegram bot: the video arrives in the chat and you save it from there.

Can I download a GIF from Twitter?

Yes. X stores GIFs as short MP4 files, so you get an MP4 that loops in any player and messenger.

What quality will I get?

One of X's own MP4 files, from 320p up to 1080p: the sharpest one that fits Telegram's 20 MB link limit. On a 46-second @NASA video that was 720×1280, 6.3 MB. Photos come at original size.

Can I download videos from private accounts?

No. Tweets from protected accounts are not visible signed out, and the page does not log in to X. Only public tweets work.

Is there a watermark?

No. You get the file X serves, unchanged; we add nothing to it.

Is it safe to use?

The page asks for no account or password, and the file comes from X's own servers, not from us. There is nothing to install.

Is it free? Is there a Telegram bot?

It is free, with no sign-up. The Telegram bot does the same: send it the tweet link and the file arrives in the chat, which is often handier on a phone.

Copied a tweet link? Paste it at the top.

No X account, and the file comes from X, not from us. On a phone, the Telegram bot does the same in the chat.
