TikTok to MP3: paste a video link, get the sound file TikTok stores.
StoriesFly's TikTok to MP3 tool takes the link of a public TikTok video and gives you the MP3 file TikTok keeps for that post's sound, handed over as it is with no re-encode, so its quality is what TikTok stored: 128 kbps on all five sounds we measured, and private videos cannot be fetched. Because it is the post's sound and not the video's own mix, it can run longer than the clip.

Why 128 is the topWhen tikwm or TikTok's own page answers, the MP3 is TikTok's own file. We do not transcode it, so no copy made from it can hold more audio than it does. Re-encoding it at 320 kbps would make a bigger file with no better audio, because a new encode cannot bring back what the first one discarded.
The post's sound file, not the video's soundtrack
TikTok keeps a post's sound as its own MP3, apart from the video, and this page hands you that file. In our measurements it carried more bitrate than the audio track inside the video (bitrates of different codecs are not a like-for-like quality score), and it arrives without another lossy pass on top.
AAC at 64–96 kbps in the video files we measured, then a second lossy encode to make an MP3.
MP3 at 128 kbps as stored, with no second encode.
What ffprobe reads from the file
In the file we checked there is no title, artist or cover art: the only tag is an encoder name. Name the file yourself after saving if you want it to sort properly in a music library.
All five sounds we measured, from posts on two accounts, came out at 128 kbps. All five were original sounds; we did not sample licensed music from TikTok's catalogue.

Why the MP3 can run past the end of the video
The MP3 is the sound attached to the post, not a recording of what the video plays. When a creator uses someone else's sound, you get that sound at its full length.
In one of our tests a 14-second video returned a 38.6-second MP3: the complete original sound by another creator, of which the video used a part. If you want exactly the audio of the clip, download the video instead. Its own audio track is the mix you heard, at a lower bitrate in our measurements.

Four steps to the sound file
The same lookup as the video downloader. This page only puts the MP3 button first.
- 01Paste the video linkA full tiktok.com/@user/video/ link, or a vm. or vt. short link from the share sheet. Our code has no handling for sound-page links (tiktok.com/music/), so paste the link of a video that uses the sound.
- 02The resolvers are asked in turntikwm, then TikTok's own video page, countik, ddtik and tikmate, until one answers. tikmate returns video only, so when the lookup falls through to it there is no MP3 button.
- 03The MP3 button comes firstIt sits above the HD and SD video buttons, which stay on the same card in case you want the clip as well.
- 04Your browser opens the fileThe MP3 usually opens in a player tab. Save it from there with the browser's download or share option, and add .mp3 to the name if it is missing.
What goes in, what comes out, what has no route
tikwm and TikTok's own page return one audio link per post, so there is no bitrate to choose.
What the MP3 cannot be
The first two follow from handing over TikTok's file untouched. The rest come from TikTok and the resolvers.
- 01Higher than 128 kbpsEvery sound we measured was a 128 kbps MP3, and nothing here re-encodes it. A higher bitrate would have to be added afterwards, and a re-encode at a higher bitrate makes a bigger file with no better audio.
- 02Titled and taggedThe file we checked carries no title, artist or cover art, only the encoder's name. The page does not add tags, because it never opens the file.
- 03The clip's own soundtrackYou get the post's sound, which can belong to another creator and run longer than the video. The mix you hear in the video exists only inside the MP4.
- 04An MP3 from every lookupIf the lookup falls through to tikmate, the last resolver, there is no MP3 button, because tikmate returns video only. Paste the link again later and an earlier resolver may answer.
- 05Private or removed postsTikTok does not show them to signed-out visitors, and the resolvers fail on them as well. A failed lookup tries the whole chain first and took about 24 seconds in our test, when the chain had four resolvers (it has five now), before the error showed.
- 06A link that lastsSound links carried an expiry stamp about seven days after the lookup on the ones we checked. Save the file itself rather than the link.
The TikTok sound file, explained
Is the MP3 320 kbps?
No. Every TikTok sound we measured was a 128 kbps MP3, and this page hands that file over untouched. A 320 kbps version of it would be a re-encode: a bigger file with no better audio.
Is the MP3 converted from the video?
No. It is a separate file TikTok keeps for the sound (tikwm, TikTok's own page, countik and ddtik all return it). The audio inside the video measured AAC at 64–96 kbps, against 128 kbps for the MP3, but the two are not always the same audio: the video carries the mix you hear, the MP3 is the sound attached to the post.
Why is my MP3 longer than the video?
Because it is the whole sound, not the clip's soundtrack. In our tests a 14-second video returned a 38.6-second original sound by another creator.
Why is there no MP3 button?
Because the resolver that answered returned no audio. tikmate, the last in the chain, returns video only; paste the link again later and an earlier resolver may answer.
Can I paste a TikTok sound page link?
Not reliably. Our code has no handling for tiktok.com/music/ pages and we have not tested one, so open a video that uses the sound and paste that video's link instead.
Does the MP3 have the song title and cover art?
Not in the file we checked: its only tag was the encoder name. We read tags on one of the five sounds, and none was licensed catalogue music, so title and artist are yours to add after saving.
Do I need a TikTok account?
No. Nothing on our side signs in to TikTok, and the MP3 downloads from its own link rather than through our server.
