what happens, top to bottomthe file through our server: never

Why nothing goes through usThe file link in a public post opens from any address: your browser takes it, and so does Telegram when you use the bot. Our server only has to read the post. We relay no video and keep no copy.

01Paste to file

How to download a video from Threads

Four steps. Only the second one runs on our server.

  1. 01Copy the post linkIn the Threads app, tap the share icon under the post and choose Copy link. On the web, copy the address of the post page. It looks like threads.com/@user/post/ followed by a short code; old threads.net links work too.
  2. 02Our server reads the postIt opens the public post signed out and finds the video and photo files Threads shows for it. A profile link, with no post code, is turned away before anything is sent.
  3. 03The files come back as buttonsOne button for the video, one for each photo. A carousel gets a button for every file in it, in the order of the post.
  4. 04Your browser fetches the fileThe button opens Meta's own file link in a new tab. Save it from there: on a computer the file downloads or plays, and the player menu has Download; on a phone use Share, then Save Video.
02What the field takes

Links it takes, posts it cannot use, files it returns

The field checks the shape of the address. Whether the post has a video or photos is up to the post.

03Quality and sound

The file Threads itself plays, with sound and without a watermark

The page hands over the video file Threads serves for the post and does nothing to it: no re-encoding, no resizing, no watermark added. The sound is part of the MP4, so you do not need to stitch anything.

On the post we measured on 26 October 2026, a 68-second video on @zuck's profile, the file was 1280×720 and 8.5 MB. That is the best file Threads had for that post. Treat 720p as what we saw, not a promise for every video: a post uploaded in lower quality comes back in lower quality, and nothing is upscaled.

Photos come back as the largest image Threads keeps for the post. On our test post that was 1696×2560. A carousel mixes videos and photos freely, and the page lists each file separately, so you can take one or all.

It works the same on iPhone, Android and a computer: the page runs in the browser, there is nothing to install. On a phone the Telegram bot is often handier: send it the post link and the file arrives in the chat, ready to save to your gallery.

04Where the file comes from

The file leaves Meta and arrives at your browser

Our server's part ends once it has read the post and passed the file links on.

What a Threads post gives you

These are the answers for the posts we measured and for the page's own rules. Nothing on our side changes the file between Meta and your browser.

A text-only post has no file to give, and a link to a profile is not a post. Open the post itself and copy its link.

06Known gaps

What the Threads downloader cannot hand you

Most of these come from Threads, not from a setting we could change.

  • 01Private profilesA private profile's posts are not shown to someone signed out, so there is nothing to download. We do not open private content.
  • 02Text-only postsA post with no video or photo has no file. The page says there is nothing to download.
  • 03Quality above what Threads storesThe page takes the file Threads serves. On the video we measured that was 1280×720. Nothing is upscaled, so 4K is not possible unless Threads has it.
  • 04Big files in the botTelegram takes files up to 50 MB through a bot. A longer video above that size is easier to get on the page.
  • 05Deleted posts or Threads not answeringIf the post is gone, the page says so. When Threads does not respond, try again in a minute.

Threads video downloads, answered

How do I download a video from Threads?

Copy the post link, paste it into the field at the top and press the button. You get a button for the video; it opens the MP4 from Meta's servers, and you save it from there.

How do I copy a Threads post link?

In the app, tap the share icon under the post and choose Copy link. On the web, copy the address of the post page; it contains /post/.

Can I download Threads videos without a watermark?

Yes. You get the same MP4 Threads plays. We add no watermark or logo and do not re-encode it.

Does the video keep its sound?

Yes. The sound is inside the MP4, the same file that plays in Threads.

Can I download photos or a whole carousel?

Yes. Photos come back at the largest size Threads keeps, and a carousel gives a separate button for every video and photo in it.

How do I save a Threads video on iPhone or Android?

Open this page in your phone's browser, paste the link and tap the video button. In the new tab use Share, then Save Video. Or send the link to our Telegram bot: the file arrives in the chat and you save it from there.

Do I need to log in or install an app?

No. The page reads public posts signed out and runs in the browser. You do not need a Threads or Instagram account.

Why can't I download from a private profile?

Threads does not show a private profile's posts to anyone signed out, and we do not get around that. Only public posts work.

Is it free? Is there a Telegram bot?

It is free and needs no sign-up. The bot does the same: send it a Threads link and the file arrives in the chat, up to 50 MB, Telegram's limit for bots.

Copied a Threads link? Paste it at the top.

On a phone the Telegram bot is often handier: send it the link and get the file in the chat. StoriesFly also downloads from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, VK, Pinterest, Snapchat, X, Facebook and Telegram stories.
