Why some reels come back smaller than 1080p
1080p is the most a reel can be, not what every reel is. A clip uploaded at 720p was transcoded and stored at 720p, and that is what comes back. This tool retrieves files, it does not improve them, so a blurry upload arrives exactly as blurry as the creator posted it.
The same applies to the watermark row. There is no watermark because nothing here composites, records or re-renders the video. Any tool that draws a logo on the file, upscales it or re-encodes it is handing you its own version of the reel instead of the file Instagram stored.
Recording the screen, or downloading the file
Every compression pass throws away detail that the next one cannot recover. Screen recording adds two of them; downloading the stored file adds none.

Questions about saving reels
Is the download really 1080p?
At most. The download takes the largest version Instagram stored: 1080p when the upload supported it, and the upload's own size when it did not.
Why do some tools advertise 4K reels?
Because upscaling after download can print any number on a file. Instagram stores nothing above 1080p, so anything above it was made afterwards rather than fetched.
Does the audio come with it?
Yes. The MP4 arrives with its audio track as stored, with nothing stripped, nothing replaced and no second file to merge.
Will there be a watermark?
No. Nothing is drawn onto the file. Whatever the creator burned into the frame themselves, such as captions or stickers, stays, because that is part of the video.
Do I need to log in?
No. The sessions doing the fetching are ours, and the page has no field for an account of yours anywhere.
Will the creator know I saved it?
No. The request reaches Instagram from one of our sessions, the way a normal play does, and reels carry no seen-by list in the first place.
My link says reels/ and not reel/. Does it work?
Yes. Both forms carry the same shortcode, and the plural path is folded into the canonical one before the download is built.
Can I pull an account's whole reels tab?
No. One link gives one file. Downloading a whole profile in bulk is a different job, and this page does not do it.
