StoriesIG: Four Sites, One Name — Which One Works (Nov 2026)
storiesig.com, .info, .cc and .us are four different sites. We tested each on 4 November 2026: which showed stories, how fast, and which opened ad tabs.
On this page
Is StoriesIG one site?
No. On 4 November 2026 at least four websites called themselves StoriesIG, on four domains registered years apart: storiesig.com (registered March 2017), storiesig.info (January 2021), storiesig.cc (July 2025) and storiesig.us (August 2026, per whois). They look alike, but they are run separately, load different ad stacks and gave different results for the same account. When someone says "StoriesIG works" or "StoriesIG is down", ask which one.
Our test the same day, with two accounts: storiesig.us was the only one that showed the stories of both, and the cleanest (no ads, 4 third-party domains, working download). storiesig.info was fast on @natgeo but opened ad tabs, one of them a casino page, and on the second account showed a post photo instead of the story. storiesig.com showed the stories only after two full-screen ads. storiesig.cc failed on @natgeo at night and showed the second account's story in the afternoon after one "Try again".
Disclosure: we make StoriesFly, another story viewer. It is included at the end with the same measurements.
The four StoriesIG sites side by side
Test accounts: @natgeo (5 active stories) and, in the afternoon round, @outdoorresearch (1 story). Seconds = Enter to the first story image; first run / median where there were three runs. For more details, see our guide on view stories anonymously.
| Domain | Registered | @natgeo | Seconds | @outdoorresearch | Third-party domains | Ads and pop-ups | Download |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| storiesig.com → /en1 | 15 Mar 2017 | 5 of 5 | list by 25 s, images after the ads | not run | 15 | 2 full-screen Google ads | buttons present, not fetched |
| storiesig.info → /en7jr/ | 14 Jan 2021 | 5 of 5 | 4.3 / 2.9 | post photo instead of the story | 6–7 | ad tabs on submit and on their own (5 in all); fake "install SaveFrom.net Helper" overlay; $11.99 app offer | worked (image file) |
| storiesig.cc | 1 Jul 2025 | 0 of 5 | profile in 3.0 s, Stories tab failed | 1 of 1 after one "Try again" | 4–5 | none seen | — |
| storiesig.us | 21 Aug 2026 | 5 of 5 | 5.0 / 4.5 | 1 of 1, 5.0 s then 1.8 s | 4 | none seen | worked (223,836-byte JPEG) |
Registration dates come from the domain registries (RDAP for .com, .info and .cc, whois for .us), read on 4 November 2026.
storiesig.com
The oldest domain. It redirects to /en1. The story list (5 items with the right posting times) was on the page within 25 seconds, but the images stayed on "Loading..." behind a full-screen Google ad, and a second full-screen ad followed in the same session. After closing both with their own Close buttons, all 5 loaded. Its FAQ says it shows public accounts only. 15 third-party domains, including a Cloudflare Turnstile host and Microsoft Clarity.
storiesig.info
The one most people mean, and the fastest of the four: 4.3 s on the first run, 2.9 s median over three. It opens on the Posts tab, so you click Stories first. A download link returned the image file.
The catch is the ads. The first submit opened a pop-up ad tab, and the page showed an overlay asking to "install SaveFrom.net Helper", styled like a browser prompt. Two later submits each opened a new tab: one a page titled "Top No Verification Casino Sites in Canada", the other a redirect. In the afternoon round two more ad tabs opened on their own. We closed them all without clicking anything. 6–7 third-party domains.
With the second account, @outdoorresearch, the story did not appear. The page showed a photo from the account's posts under "Everything is prepared for you", with an offer to get HD video or MP3 through a separate $11.99 app; clicking Stories did not change that. AnonyIG uses the same page and did the same.
storiesig.cc
A newer site with the same name. At night (01:47 UTC) the profile card loaded for @natgeo in 3.0 s, but the Stories tab showed "Couldn't load this content", also after a retry. In the afternoon (13:45 UTC) with @outdoorresearch it showed "This is taking longer than expected. Please try again." after about 24 s; after one click on "Try again" the story appeared within 10 s. We found no privacy policy link. 4–5 third-party domains, no ads seen.
storiesig.us
The youngest domain and the best result of the four. All 5 stories in 5.0 s on the first run and 4.5 s median; the same story IDs that our own system saw for @natgeo. The second account's story came up in 5.0 s and then 1.8 s. The download returned a 223,836-byte JPEG. No ads, 4 third-party domains (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Cloudflare Insights, Instagram's image servers). Privacy and terms pages are linked in the footer.
Is StoriesIG safe?
None of the four asked for an Instagram login, and none can show a private account's stories. The risk is in the ads, not the viewer: on storiesig.info a click can open a new tab you did not ask for, and the extension overlay is designed to look like a browser prompt. Don't install extensions or apps offered by a viewer site, and close new tabs instead of interacting with them. The two cleaner ones in our test were storiesig.us and storiesig.cc (no ads seen); storiesig.us was the one that showed stories every time.
Why does StoriesIG stop working?
From our runs, "not working" usually means one of these, not that the site is gone:
- You landed on a different StoriesIG. The four domains rank for the same name. storiesig.cc failed on stories at night while the others worked.
- The site shows something else in place of the story. On storiesig.info the second account's story was replaced by a post photo and a paid-app offer.
- It needs a retry. storiesig.cc showed the story after one "Try again".
- An ad is covering the result. On storiesig.com the stories were there, behind two full-screen ads.
- Instagram changed something. Viewer sites depend on how Instagram serves stories; when it changes, each site fixes it on its own schedule, which is why one StoriesIG can work while another fails.
Alternatives to StoriesIG
From the same night's test of 25 viewers (full results):
| Site | Stories for @natgeo | Seconds (first / median) | Third-party domains | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| StoriesFly (ours) | all, plus highlights | 1.3 (logged-out guest) | 5, no ads | 10 free views a day; plans from $4.99/month |
| Insmask | 5 of 5 | 6.3 / 2.6 | 5, no ad networks | exact story ages; second account 1 of 1 |
| AnonyIG | 6 items for 5 stories | 2.3 / 1.5 | 13 | second account: post photo instead of the story |
| Insnoop | 5 of 5 | 8.0 / 1.1 | 5 | second account 1 of 1; download not confirmed |
| Inviziogram | 5 of 5 | 20.7 / 1.6 | 10 | followers and following tabs |
StoriesFly is our own tool. Like storiesig.us it shows no ads; unlike any StoriesIG, it also has a Telegram bot that sends the newest story into the chat, a highlights viewer and, on a paid plan, alerts when an account posts a new story or changes its followers. Where it is weaker: the free plan stops at 10 story views a day, and a bigger account it has not seen recently can take longer (11.1 s for @lonelyplanet in our guest check). Try it on the story viewer.
How we tested
4 November 2026. storiesig.info and storiesig.cc: round 1, 01:43 and 01:47 UTC, a desktop browser pane with no login. storiesig.com, storiesig.info (repeats) and storiesig.us: round 2, 03:08–04:19 UTC, desktop Chrome with real keyboard input. Second account on storiesig.info, storiesig.us and storiesig.cc: round 3, 13:40–13:46 UTC, same Chrome. No site was logged in to, cookie banners were declined, and no ad was clicked. One location (Serbia by IP); ads differ by country. StoriesFly was rechecked as a logged-out guest at 13:16 UTC.
FAQ
Which StoriesIG is the real one?
There isn't one original that the others copy: storiesig.com (2017), storiesig.info (2021), storiesig.cc (2025) and storiesig.us (2026) are separate sites with the same name. On 4 November 2026 storiesig.us gave the cleanest result and was the only one to show both test accounts' stories; storiesig.info was the fastest on @natgeo.
Is StoriesIG not working today?
It depends on the domain. On 4 November 2026 storiesig.com, storiesig.info and storiesig.us showed all 5 @natgeo stories; storiesig.cc failed on them with "Couldn't load this content", but showed a second account's story after one "Try again". With that second account, storiesig.info showed a post photo instead of the story.
Is StoriesIG anonymous?
Yes, in the sense that matters: none of the four asks for your Instagram login, so your account cannot appear in the story's viewer list. The site sees your visit, and on storiesig.com and storiesig.info so do their ad networks (15 and 7 third-party domains).
Can StoriesIG show private stories?
No. A private account's stories are visible only to approved followers, and storiesig.com's own FAQ says public accounts only. Any site that promises private stories is selling something else.
Is StoriesIG free?
All four were free to use on 4 November 2026, paid for by ads on storiesig.com and storiesig.info. storiesig.us and storiesig.cc showed no ads in our runs.
What is the best StoriesIG alternative?
In our 25-site test, sites that showed all stories quickly without a login included StoriesFly, Insmask, AnonyIG and Insnoop. StoriesFly has no ads, and Insmask loaded no ad networks.
