Why use a Telegram bot for Instagram stories?
A Telegram bot keeps the whole job inside an app you already have open. You send a username to the bot, watch that profile's public stories without logging in to Instagram, and anything you save comes back as a message in the same chat. There is no sign-up form because Telegram already knows who you are, and if you track accounts, the alerts arrive as ordinary Telegram messages.
The examples below use @instanavy_bot, the StoriesFly bot. In Telegram search it shows up as "StoryViewer - anonymous instagram story viewer tool" rather than "StoriesFly", so search by the handle @instanavy_bot to be sure you have the right one. If you have never opened a Telegram Mini App, this setup guide covers the first minute.
You send a username or a link, the bot answers in the chat
Type an Instagram username such as @username, or paste a profile link like instagram.com/username, and send it to the bot as a normal message. The bot replies with that profile's newest story, right in the chat, and buttons under it: "All N stories", "Track @username" and "Highlights".
Behind the buttons is the same anonymous story viewer as on storiesfly.com, loaded as a Telegram Mini App, so there is nothing to install. To search from the app itself, use the green "Open App" button or the /app command.
Paste a link to a post or a reel instead, and the bot sends the video or photo back into the chat, with a button to the author's profile. Those files don't count against the free plan's daily downloads.
No sign-up form: Telegram is your login
When you open the app inside Telegram, you are signed in with your Telegram account automatically. There is no email, password or confirmation code, and your plan and daily counters stay attached to that account.
Telegram passes a Mini App a few basic profile details, such as your name, username and language, but not your phone number. The app uses the language to switch its interface (20 languages are available), although the bot's own welcome message and menus are in English.
What StoriesFly never asks for is your Instagram login. It has no Instagram sign-in at all, so your own Instagram account is never used to view anything and cannot appear in the viewer list of a story you watch. StoriesFly also does not mark stories as seen. Stories are fetched through StoriesFly's servers and third-party data providers that it does not fully control, so read "anonymous" as "your account is not involved" rather than as an absolute guarantee. The anonymous viewing safety guide covers the details.
The free plan gives you 10 story views, 50 downloads and 5 highlight views a day, and it does not ask for payment details.
Saved stories land in your chat, not a downloads folder
Inside Telegram, the app's Download and Save buttons turn into "Send". Tap it and the photo or video arrives as a message in your chat with the bot, where you can save it to your gallery or forward it. A "Send to Telegram" button sends all of a profile's current stories in one go.
This works for stories, highlights, and posts and reels saved through the Instagram downloader. Telegram keeps chats in its cloud, so a video you sent to the chat from your phone is also there in Telegram on your laptop.
A few limits are worth knowing:
- Videos over 50 MB are not sent to the chat.
- Photos over 10 MB arrive as a file rather than as a photo.
- Smaller photos arrive as regular Telegram photos, which Telegram usually compresses. If you want the file itself rather than a chat photo, use the website, where it downloads straight to your device.
Tracker alerts come as ordinary messages
The tracker is where Telegram delivery matters most. On a paid plan you add an account, and StoriesFly checks it on a schedule. When something changes, the bot sends you a message: a new story, a change in the follower or following count, or the names of new followers, unfollowers and new follows. Each message has a "View" button that opens the matching page in the app.
Because checks run on a schedule, a new story usually reaches you within a few hours, and name-by-name changes can take longer to confirm. Named comparison covers lists of up to 300 following and 1,500 followers on Basic, and on Pro up to 3,500 names per list, with 3,000 following and 7,000 followers shared by its five accounts. For bigger accounts only the counts are compared. Basic tracks one account and Pro tracks five.
To keep the chat readable, you get at most 12 tracker alerts a day, and the same alert is not repeated within an hour or two. The unfollowers tracker page explains how the comparison works.
Without Telegram, alerts come as browser notifications or email, both of which are easier to miss than a message in a chat you read every day.

Share a profile with a friend from any chat
Inline mode lets you share a profile without leaving the conversation you are in. In any Telegram chat, type @instanavy_bot, a space and an Instagram username, then pick the result to send your friend a link to that profile's stories. If nothing appears after you type, open the bot and send the username there instead.
To share something you have already saved, forward the photo or video from your bot chat like any other Telegram message.
What the bot can do about private accounts
StoriesFly works with public accounts. If a profile you look up is private, you can ask to be told when it goes public. This alert is free: StoriesFly re-checks the account about once a week for up to six months and sends you a Telegram message if it opens up.
The paid Private Viewer sends a follow request from one of StoriesFly's own Instagram accounts, and it works only if the owner accepts that request. Nothing in StoriesFly shows a private account's content without the owner's approval.
Paying without leaving Telegram
Paid plans start from $4.99/month, and you can pay for them without leaving Telegram:
- Telegram Stars, in Telegram's own payment window.
- Visa or Mastercard through Tribute, which opens inside Telegram.
- Cryptocurrency through NOWPayments, or TON sent straight from your wallet.
Monthly Stars plans renew from your Stars balance until you cancel with /cancel in the bot or on the app's Account page, and access lasts to the end of the paid period. Annual Stars plans and crypto payments do not renew. If you change your mind, support can refund a payment within 3 days. The pricing page lists what each plan includes.
When the website is the better choice
- You want the file itself. Videos over 50 MB don't go to the chat, and the website saves files directly to your device.
- You are working through many profiles at a desk. A large screen and several browser tabs suit batch work better than a phone.
You don't have to pick one for good. Sign in on the website with Telegram and you get the same account, plan and tracked accounts as in the app. If you already have a website account made with email or Google, the "Connect Telegram" button links it to the bot through a one-time link that is valid for 30 minutes, and from then on your alerts go to Telegram.
To try it, open @instanavy_bot, press Start and send it a username.
FAQ
Is the Instagram Telegram bot free?
Yes. Reels and posts sent by link in the chat are free, and the free plan also covers 50 newest-story previews in the chat plus 10 story views, 50 downloads and 5 highlight views a day in the app, with no payment details. The tracker and unlimited views and downloads need a paid plan, from $4.99/month.
Do I need an Instagram account to use it?
No. You are signed in with your Telegram account, and StoriesFly never asks for an Instagram login or password.
Will the person know I viewed their story?
Your own Instagram account is never used, so you cannot appear in their viewer list, and StoriesFly does not mark stories as seen. It works with public accounts.
Does it work on a computer?
Yes. The bot and its app work in Telegram on a computer and in Telegram Web in a browser, and what the bot sends you syncs across devices. You can also use storiesfly.com and sign in with Telegram to keep the same account.
Can it open private accounts?
No. StoriesFly shows public accounts. For a private one you can set a free alert for when it goes public, or use the paid Private Viewer, which sends a follow request and works only if the owner accepts it.
