Which MCP server should you use for Instagram and TikTok?

It depends on what you need. For Instagram-only work with stories, followers and downloads, iGram is the closest fit and is cheaper per request at high volume. For many networks at once (X, Reddit, YouTube as well), Xpoz, viral.app or Virlo cover more ground. For general web data with social media as one part, Apify and Bright Data are the big platforms. For Instagram and TikTok in one connection, including TikTok followers, following and reposts, with a pay-per-request balance, StoriesFly is built for that. If you only need your own accounts' numbers, a connector on the official Meta or TikTok login is the right tool.

Updated October 2026. Prices and features were checked on each service's own pages in October 2026 and change often; follow the links before you decide.

Who wrote this. StoriesFly wrote this article, and StoriesFly is one of the entries. We have tried to be fair: every claim about another service links to that service's own page, and our own weaknesses are listed next to our strengths. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we will fix it.

What an MCP server does here

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard way to plug a tool into an AI assistant. ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code and Cursor all accept custom MCP servers. Once connected, you can ask "compare these three creators' last 30 videos" and the assistant fetches the data itself instead of asking you for screenshots.

The services below differ in four things that matter:

  1. Which platforms they read, and which parts of each (stories, follower lists, comments, search).
  2. Whose accounts. Public data about any account, or only accounts you own through an official login.
  3. How you pay. Monthly quota, credits, per-call prices or a general usage plan.
  4. How you connect. A hosted address with sign-in, an API key, or a server you run yourself.

The options one by one

StoriesFly

What it is. A hosted MCP server at https://storiesfly.com/mcp for public Instagram and TikTok data. Works in ChatGPT (including the Free plan), Claude, Claude Code and Cursor. You sign in with Telegram; there is no key to copy. Steps are on the connect page.

Pricing. 100 free requests once per Telegram account. Basic is 100 requests a month for $4.99, Pro 500 a month for $19.99. A prepaid balance has no monthly cap: $1.50 per 1,000 requests at the entry price, from $10, and it never expires. One full profile analysis is about 10 requests.

Choose it for. Instagram and TikTok in one connection. TikTok followers, following and reposts, which we did not find on the other MCP pages we read. Instagram stories, highlights and follower lists. Paying per request without a subscription.

Weaknesses. Two platforms only. No TikTok sound, hashtag or keyword trend search. Needs a Telegram account to sign in. Read-only: no posting or scheduling. At high Instagram volume, iGram's top tiers cost less per request. Private accounts are not readable, which is true of every public-data service here.

More detail: Instagram MCP, TikTok MCP.

iGram

What it is. An Instagram-only MCP server from the igram.world downloader, usable in ChatGPT (developer mode, custom MCP app with OAuth), Claude and other MCP clients, per its MCP page.

Pricing. Per that page: Pro $50 a month for 50,000 requests, Ultra $150 for 250,000, Mega $250 for 1,000,000, with hard caps and no overage, and 50 free requests without a card.

Choose it for. Heavy Instagram work: downloads, stories, highlights, followers and following, comments and likers. At 50,000 requests a month it is about $1 per 1,000.

Gaps. Instagram only on the MCP page. Monthly tiers start at $50, so light use costs more than a small plan elsewhere.

Xpoz

What it is. A social intelligence MCP for X, Instagram, TikTok and Reddit, with a hosted address and sign-in at setup, per its pricing page.

Pricing. Per the pricing page in October 2026: Free with 500 credits once; Pro about $16 a month billed yearly with 7,500 credits a month; Max about $160 a month with 120,000 credits. Credits per query differ by platform: 2 for X and Reddit, 5 for TikTok, 12 for Instagram. Their own blog guide lists different prices, so check the live page.

Choose it for. Questions that cross networks, such as how a topic spreads from X to Reddit, brand sentiment, finding accounts that lead a topic. Their use-case page shows sample Claude prompts.

Gaps. Instagram is the most expensive platform in credits. We did not find TikTok follower or following lists on the pages we read.

viral.app

What it is. A creator analytics product whose MCP was rebuilt on its own API in June 2026, with live calls across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook, per its changelog. Their TikTok MCP page mentions over 50 tools.

Choose it for. Teams already on viral.app for tracking and analytics.

Gaps. In June 2026 the changelog listed the ChatGPT app and the Claude Code connector as coming next; check the current state.

Virlo

What it is. A TikTok, YouTube and Instagram MCP with around 20 tools, per Virlo's article.

Pricing. Pay as you go: per that article, a trends digest is about $0.25, a creator look-up or keyword search about $0.50, hashtag look-ups a few cents, and reading data already pulled is free.

Choose it for. Trend research and content planning on short video, including hashtag look-ups.

Gaps. The article does not mention follower or following lists or reposts.

Apify

What it is. A large platform of ready-made data tools ("actors"), with an MCP server that can call them, including a TikTok MCP page. You connect by OAuth or run their MCP package with an Apify token.

Pricing. Account plan plus usage. Per the ScrapeCreators roundup, Apify's free tier includes $5 of usage a month and Starter is $19 a month plus usage.

Choose it for. Almost any platform, and workflows that also run in Make or Zapier.

Gaps. Quality, fields and prices depend on which actor you pick, and actors are maintained by different authors. You spend time choosing and checking them.

ScrapeCreators

What it is. A social media data API covering TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, Reddit and more, per their roundup.

Pricing. 100 free credits; per that article, $47 buys 25,000 credits that do not expire, and cached answers cost nothing.

Choose it for. Developers who want one API across many networks and credits that do not expire.

Gaps. We did not find separate MCP pricing or a dedicated MCP page in what we read.

Bright Data

What it is. A web data company with an MCP server. Per its FAQ and the ScrapeCreators roundup, basic search and page-reading tools have 5,000 free requests a month, and structured social media tools are in the paid tier, with a pay-as-you-go headline price of $1.50 per 1,000 requests.

Choose it for. Agents that read the general web as well as social media.

Gaps. Social tools are not in the free tier. It is a general platform, so social prompts need more setup.

HasData TikTok MCP

What it is. An open-source TikTok MCP (public profiles, videos, comments, keyword search) that uses a HasData API key, per its directory listing.

Choose it for. Developers who want to run a small TikTok server themselves.

Gaps. We found no Instagram MCP from HasData. You host it.

vidIQ

What it is. vidIQ's app in ChatGPT gives live channel analytics, keyword research, outliers and competitor views, per vidIQ's guide.

Choose it for. YouTube creators.

Gaps. It is built around YouTube. We could not confirm TikTok in the ChatGPT app from official material.

Windsor.ai Instagram Public Data

What it is. A connector that reads public Instagram profiles by handle, with guides for ChatGPT and competitor analysis in Claude.

Choose it for. Marketing teams already using Windsor.ai for reporting.

Gaps. Instagram only in this connector; reporting comes first, not stories or follower lists.

Official-login connectors

Tools such as Metricool, Kondado, Porter Metrics, OwlStat and Socialinsider connect to your accounts through Meta's or TikTok's own login.

Choose them for. Your own reach, impressions, saves and audience data, which no public-data service can see.

Gaps. They read your accounts, not any public account you name. Metricool's competitor view covers only competitors you set up to track.

How to choose

  • "I need to analyze any public Instagram account, often." iGram if Instagram is all you need and volume is high; StoriesFly if you also need TikTok or want to pay per request.
  • "I need TikTok followers, following or reposts." StoriesFly reads all three; Apify has separate actors for some of them. See TikTok following lists with AI.
  • "I need trends across many networks." Xpoz, Virlo or viral.app.
  • "I need my own account's reach and audience." An official-login connector.
  • "I build agents that read the whole web." Apify or Bright Data.

How we checked

We read each service's own MCP, pricing or documentation page in October 2026 and linked the page each fact came from. Where a vendor's numbers differed between its own pages (Xpoz), we say so. We did not test every service's output quality side by side, so this table compares what each one offers, not how well each one answers.

FAQ

What is the best MCP server for Instagram?

For Instagram only at high volume, iGram's tiers are the cheapest per request we found. For Instagram plus TikTok in one connection, with pay-per-request pricing, StoriesFly. For your own account's Insights, an official-login connector.

What is the best MCP server for TikTok?

It depends on the question. For trend and hashtag research, Virlo or Xpoz. For an account's videos, followers, following and reposts, StoriesFly. For TikTok together with many other networks, viral.app, ScrapeCreators or Apify.

Do these work with the free version of ChatGPT?

Custom MCP servers can be added on ChatGPT's Free plan, and StoriesFly works there. Check each other service's page for its current ChatGPT support.

Can any MCP server read private Instagram or TikTok accounts?

No public-data service can. Private accounts show their content only to approved followers. Official-login connectors read private data only for accounts you own. For more details, see our guide on viewing private Instagram stories.

Is there a free Instagram MCP server?

Several have a free start: StoriesFly gives 100 requests once, iGram 50, Xpoz 500 credits once, ScrapeCreators 100 credits. Open-source servers are free to run but need an API key or hosting of their own.

Why do prices differ so much?

Services charge in different units: requests, credits weighted by platform, per-call prices, or a general usage plan. Compare by what one real task costs, for example one full profile analysis, which is about 10 requests on StoriesFly.
