How to Download VK Videos and Clips (MP4, Online)

How do you download a video from VK?#

Copy the link to the video or clip (in the app: Share → Copy link), paste it into the VK video downloader and press the button. You get an MP4 with sound and no watermark, usually within seconds. You don't need a VK account or a sign-up on our site. If you'd rather stay in Telegram, send the same link to @instanavy_bot and it sends the video back.

Only public videos work, the ones anyone can play without logging in. Friends-only videos, videos in closed groups and deleted videos can't be downloaded by us or by anyone else.

How do I get the link to a VK video or clip?#

In the VK app:

1. Open the video or clip.
2. Tap the Share arrow (on clips it sits on the right side of the video, on regular videos under the player). If you don't see it, tap "⋯".
3. Choose Copy link.

In the VK Video app it's the same: Share → Copy link. You get a vkvideo.ru/... link, which works too.

On a computer, open the video and copy the address from the browser bar. All the usual VK formats work:

• vk.com/video-123_456 and vk.com/clip-123_456
• vkvideo.ru/...
• long links ending in ?z=video..., which you get when a video opens on top of a feed or wall
• vk.ru/... and the mobile m.vk.com/...

A link to a person's or community page, such as vk.com/durov, is not a video link. If you want the stories from that page, use the VK story viewer instead.

How to download VK videos on Android#

1. Copy the video link.
2. Open the VK video downloader in Chrome, paste the link and press the button.
3. Tap Download. Chrome saves the file to the Downloads folder.
4. It normally shows up in your Gallery or Google Photos right away. If it doesn't, open the Files app, go to Downloads and play it from there.

How to download VK videos on iPhone#

1. Copy the link and open the downloader in Safari.
2. Paste, press the button, then tap Download and confirm when Safari asks.
3. The file goes to the Files app → On My iPhone → Downloads, not to Photos. That's how Safari handles downloads.
4. To move it to Photos, open it in Files, tap Share (the square with an arrow) and choose Save Video.

The Telegram bot is the shorter route on iPhone: a video in Telegram saves to Photos with one tap.

How to download VK videos on a PC or Mac#

1. Open the video in your browser and copy the address.
2. Paste it into the downloader and press the button.
3. Click Download. The MP4 lands in your Downloads folder and plays in any player.

The download link on the page lasts one hour. If you come back to an old tab and the file won't download, paste the VK link again.

How to download VK videos with the Telegram bot#

1. Open @instanavy_bot and press Start.
2. Send the video or clip link.
3. The bot replies with a normal Telegram video. Forward it to any chat or save it: long-press (or "⋯") → Save to Gallery on Android, Save Video on iPhone.

There's no daily limit for these links. If you send more than about 20 links in 10 minutes, the bot asks you to wait a few minutes.

The catch is size. Telegram doesn't let bots send files over 50 MB. Clips and short videos nearly always fit; long videos often don't. In that case the bot tells you, and you download that one from the website.

What quality do you get?#

Clips and videos up to 3 minutes come in up to 720p. Longer videos come in up to 480p. There's no 1080p option, and no audio-only or MP3 download; the MP4 always has sound.

If the uploader posted a low-resolution video, the file won't be better than what VK stores.

Why won't a VK video download?#

• Friends-only or members-only video. Only friends or group members can play it. The tool opens the page the way a logged-out visitor does, so it can't reach it. There is no workaround.
• Closed group or closed profile. Same reason: nothing inside is shown to outsiders.
• Video VK shows only to logged-in users. Some videos require a VK login to play. Those can't be downloaded either.
• Deleted or blocked video. Open the link in a private browser window without logging in. If it doesn't play there, it can't be downloaded.
• You pasted a page link, not a video link. Open the video itself and use Share → Copy link.
• The bot says the file is too big. That's Telegram's 50 MB limit. Use the website for that video.
• The download link stopped working. It expired after an hour. Paste the VK link again.

Is it OK to download someone else's VK video?#

Saving a video to watch offline or to keep it is fine. If you want to repost it, ask the author first and credit them; VK can take down re-uploads after a copyright complaint.
