How to Download Threads Videos on iPhone, Android and PC

How do you download a video from Threads?#

Threads has no download button for other people's videos, so you save them by link. Copy the post link in the app, paste it into the Threads video downloader and press download. You get every video and photo in the post, including all items of a carousel, in the largest version the post has. It works for public posts only; posts from private profiles and deleted posts can't be saved.

How to copy a Threads post link#

1. Open the post in the Threads app.
2. Tap the share icon under the post (the paper plane).
3. Choose Copy link.

In a browser on threads.com, open the post and copy the address from the address bar. A post link looks like threads.com/@username/post/ABC123. Older threads.net/... links still work, so you don't need to change anything if you saved one before Threads moved domains.

Copy the link to the post itself, not to the profile. A profile link like threads.com/@username has no single video to save.

How to download Threads videos on iPhone#

1. Copy the post link as above.
2. Open Safari and go to the Threads video downloader.
3. Paste the link and press the button. Thumbnails of every video and photo in the post appear.
4. Tap download under the one you want. Safari asks to confirm; tap Download.
5. The file goes to the Files app, Downloads folder. To move a video into Photos, open it in Files, tap Share and choose Save Video. For a photo, choose Save Image.

If a video opens in a player instead of downloading, press and hold the download button and choose Download Linked File.

How to download Threads videos on Android#

1. In Threads, tap share and Copy link.
2. Open Chrome, go to the downloader, paste the link and press the button.
3. Tap download under the video. Chrome shows a "Downloaded" bar at the bottom.
4. The file is in the Downloads folder. Google Photos or Gallery usually shows it in a Downloads album; if not, open the Files app and look in Downloads.

How to download Threads videos on PC or Mac#

Open the post on threads.com, copy the address, paste it into the downloader and click download. The file is saved to your Downloads folder as an MP4 with sound. On a computer it's often quicker than the phone because you can copy the link straight from the address bar.

Downloading through Telegram#

If you already spend your day in Telegram, send the post link to @instanavy_bot. The bot replies with the files: a carousel comes back as up to 10 files per link. Videos arrive as regular Telegram videos, so you can forward them or save them: open the video, tap the three dots, then Save to Gallery (Android) or Save to Photos (iPhone).

Two limits to know. Telegram doesn't let bots send files over 50 MB, so a long or heavy video won't come through the bot; it tells you, and you save it from the website instead. And if you paste more than about 20 links in 10 minutes, the bot asks you to wait a few minutes.

Is there a watermark?#

StoriesFly doesn't add any watermark or logo. You get the file the post contains. If the author burned text or a logo into the video before posting, that stays, since it's part of the picture.

Threads and Instagram: what's the connection?#

Threads is Meta's app and works alongside Instagram: most people sign in with their Instagram account, and many share Threads posts to Instagram and back. If the video you want was also posted as a reel or an Instagram post, you can save it with the Instagram downloader instead. Whether a Threads profile is public or private is set in Threads, so a profile can be open on one app and closed on the other.

Why a Threads video won't download#

• The profile is private. Only approved followers see its posts. There's no way around this; a private post can't be downloaded by anyone who isn't let in.
• The post was deleted. The link then leads nowhere. If the author reposted it, find the new post and copy its link.
• It's a text post. Posts with no video or photo have nothing to save. If the video is inside a quoted post, open the quoted post and copy its link instead.
• The link is to a profile or a reply thread. Open the exact post with the video and copy the link from its share menu.
• The video is too big for the bot. Use the website; it has no 50 MB limit.
• It worked in the app but not here. Some posts are hidden from logged-out visitors by the author's settings or by Threads itself. If the post doesn't open in a browser where you aren't signed in, the downloader won't see it either.

Can I repost a video I downloaded?#

Saving a video for yourself is one thing. Posting someone else's video on your own account is another: ask the author first and credit them by username. Most creators say yes when asked, and almost none like finding their clip reposted without a name.
