How to View VK Stories Anonymously (Online, No Login)

Can you view VK stories anonymously?#

Not from your own account. If you're logged in to VK and open a story, you appear in its viewers list and the author can see it. The only anonymous way is to not use your account at all: paste the person's or community's page link into the VK story viewer and their current stories open in your browser. You won't be in the viewers list, because your VK account isn't involved.

It only works for stories visible to everyone. Friends-only stories and stories on closed profiles can't be viewed.

Does VK show who viewed your story?#

Yes. The author opens their story and sees how many people watched it and who they are. If you watched from your account, you're on that list.

What people usually ask next:

• Skipping fast still counts. If the story opened, you're in the list.
• The story leaving after 24 hours doesn't erase your view. Don't count on it being forgotten.
• VK has no incognito mode for stories. There's no setting that hides your views while you're logged in.
• A second account doesn't make you invisible. The second account shows up in the list instead, and an empty new profile tends to stand out.

So the only way to stay off the list is to not open the story from a VK account.

How to view VK stories without an account#

Get the page link#

You need the link to a person's or community's page, not to a video or post.

• In the VK app: open the profile or community, tap "⋯" in the top-right corner and choose Copy link.
• On a computer: open the page and copy the address, for example vk.com/rbc or vk.com/id1.
• Short name: you can type just the name without vk.com/, for example rbc.

On the website#

1. Open the VK story viewer. No login or sign-up.
2. Paste the link or short name and press the button.
3. You see the page's current stories, photos and videos, and can watch them right there.
4. Each story has a download button. On Android the file goes to Downloads; on iPhone to the Files app → Downloads, and from there Share → Save moves it to Photos.

In the Telegram bot#

1. Open @instanavy_bot and press Start.
2. Send the VK page link.
3. The bot replies with how many stories the page has right now, confirms they won't see you in the viewers list, and sends the stories as files.

From the chat you can forward a story or save it to your gallery. Telegram doesn't let bots send files over 50 MB, but stories almost never come near that.

What you can't view#

• Friends-only stories. VK lets people limit who sees their stories. If they're set to friends only, an outsider can't see them. It looks the same as having no stories: the page opens, zero stories.
• Closed profiles. Their stories aren't shown to outsiders.
• Stories older than 24 hours. A story lasts a day. We don't show the author's archive or old stories.
• Deleted stories. If the author deletes a story early, it's gone here too.

Why don't I see a story that was just posted?#

Results refresh every few minutes. If the story went up a moment ago, wait a couple of minutes and check again.

If there are still no stories, check:

1. Is it a page link, not a video or post link?
2. Is the profile open? Look at it in a private browser window without logging in.
3. Are the stories friends-only, or are there simply none right now?

Is it OK to watch someone's stories this way?#

Watching what someone posted for everyone isn't wrong. Keep what you download to yourself; ask the author before reposting and credit them. And don't use it to keep tabs on someone who blocked you or asked to be left alone.
