How it works
Three steps. About five seconds.
Pick a niche
Choose from 10 verticals: fitness, food, tech, beauty, comedy, dance, education, gaming, travel, fashion. Each has ~30 curated seed creators.
Set filters
Min-followers to filter by account size (0 for any size, 1M+ for major creators). Min-engagement % to filter for audience-loyalty quality (3%+ is paid-quality baseline).
Run discovery
We fetch each seed's profile + recent videos, compute engagement rate, filter, and rank. Results appear in 3-5 seconds depending on cache state.
Methodology
How we discover, filter, and rank
Curated seed lists + live engagement-rate scoring + tier-aware caps.
Curated seed lists
Each of the 10 niches has ~30 hand-picked, well-known public TikTok creators that broadly represent the vertical. The seed list is the discovery pool — not an endorsement, just a representative sample.
Engagement-rate scoring
For each seed in the chosen niche, we fetch their profile + 12 most recent videos. Engagement rate = avg (likes + comments + shares) per video / total followers, expressed as a percentage. Cached 24h.
User-applied filters
min-followers (0 → 10M+) and min-engagement % (0 → 20%) are applied after engagement-rate calculation. Use them to narrow to your tier or your campaign requirements.
Tier-aware result cap
FREE → top 3 results. BASIC → top 10. PRO → top 30. The same engagement-rate ranking applies across tiers; lower tiers see fewer rows. Blurred-preview overlay shows the locked rows.
PRO custom seed
PRO can append a custom username to the seed pool. We fetch their live profile, compute engagement, and merge them into the ranking. Useful for benchmarking yourself or a niche leader we haven't curated.
24h engagement cache
Engagement-rate calculations are cached per creator for 24h since these don't materially change day-to-day. Profile metadata is cached 1h. Both refresh automatically; no manual refresh needed.
Who uses TikTok niche finder
From brand teams to solo creators.
Brand teams building creator shortlists
Your brand needs to launch in the fitness vertical. Pick the niche, set min-followers to 100K+ (campaign minimum), set min-engagement to 3% (paid-quality baseline). The top 30 ranked creators are your starting shortlist for outreach.
Influencer marketing agencies vetting roster
Quarterly health-check on every talent client takes 30 seconds with this tool. Run niche finder for the vertical they operate in; if they're not ranked in the top 30 (or very close), it's time to either rework their content strategy or de-prioritize them in your sales decks.
Creators benchmarking themselves
Add yourself as a custom seed (PRO). Compare your engagement rate against the curated 30. If you're below the median, content strategy needs work. If you're top-10, raise your sponsored-post rates.
Competitive analysts mapping niche dynamics
Engagement % distribution across the top 30 in a niche tells you the audience-loyalty health of that vertical. Niches with multiple 5%+ creators are mature, well-engaged communities; niches with mostly 1-2% creators are likely volume-driven (gaming, food often look like this).
Talent scouts identifying breakouts
Set min-followers low (10K-100K) and min-engagement high (8%+). The results are the small-but-loyal accounts likely to grow. Worth approaching early before they hit the major brand-deal threshold and become competitive.
Researchers studying creator economy
Free public ranking, curated seeds, transparent methodology. Build cross-niche comparison datasets, study how engagement-rate distributions vary by vertical, or track how ranking shifts over time. PRO's custom seed lets you import external creator lists for hybrid analysis.
The complete guide to TikTok creator discovery in 2026
Why creator discovery is different on TikTok
Discovery on TikTok is broken in a specific way that doesn't exist on other platforms. Instagram has search-by-interest tags and well-developed third-party discovery tools. YouTube has a full-text search index that surfaces channels by topic with reasonable precision. TikTok has neither — its native search is video-keyword-based, and its API does not expose a “search creators by niche” endpoint at all.
The practical consequence: brand teams, marketing agencies, and talent scouts trying to find TikTok creators in a specific vertical end up either (a) doing manual hashtag-mining, which is tedious and surfaces low-quality matches, or (b) paying $300- $1500/month for enterprise creator-discovery suites like CreatorIQ or Aspire. Neither is great for indie creators or early-stage brand teams.
Our approach: maintain a curated seed list of well-known creators per niche, fetch live engagement data per seed, and expose the ranking through tier-aware filters. Free for the top 3 results, PRO for the full 30. This isn't a complete discovery solution — the curated seed list is a deliberate constraint — but it's a useful, fast, free-tier-friendly starting point that doesn't require a four-figure enterprise contract.
Why engagement % matters more than follower count
The instinct when building a creator shortlist is to sort by follower count. Bigger is better, right? Wrong, on TikTok especially. Here's why:
TikTok's For You feed is purely algorithmic. A creator's follower count is mostly a vanity metric — what actually predicts whether their content reaches new audiences is the algorithm's opinion of their engagement quality. A 100K-follower creator with 8% engagement consistently reaches 500K+ viewers per video via FYP distribution. A 1M-follower creator with 1.5% engagement may struggle to reach 200K viewers per video — their follower count is dead weight.
For brand campaigns, this matters even more. A 100K-follower / 8%-engagement creator delivers a more loyal, attentive audience that converts better on sponsored content than a 1M-follower / 1%-engagement creator. Industry data consistently shows that cost-per-converted-customer is 30-60% lower with high-engagement small creators than with low-engagement mega-creators.
That's why our default ranking is by engagement rate, not follower count. Use the min-followers filter to set your campaign tier; let the engagement ranking decide who within that tier is actually worth partnering with.
The 10 niches and what to look for in each
Fitness — High engagement floor (5%+ is typical for established creators). Look for consistent posting cadence and clear specialty (powerlifting, yoga, calisthenics) rather than generic “fitness”.
Food — Mid engagement (3-7% typical). Recipe creators outperform restaurant-review creators on engagement; production quality matters a lot. Top accounts have a clear visual signature.
Tech — Lower engagement floor (2-5% typical) because the audience skews male and is more passive. Top accounts compensate with reach. Watch for creators who do hands-on testing vs unboxing-only.
Beauty — Wide engagement spread (2-15%). Tutorials engage more than hauls. Authenticity signals (no-filter shots, honest reviews) outperform high-production-value sponsored-feel content.
Comedy — Highest engagement on TikTok (5-15% typical). Format matters: sketches engage more than reaction videos. Recurring characters drive community formation.
Dance — Engagement varies wildly (1-12%). Choreographers with named original moves outperform generic trend-followers. Watch for sound affiliations.
Education — Strong engagement (4-10% typical) when the creator nails “explain a technical thing in 60 seconds”. Saves and shares matter more than likes here.
Gaming — Low engagement (1-3% typical) because the audience is heavily passive consumers. Watch for creators who do reaction + commentary vs pure gameplay.
Travel — Mid-low engagement (2-5% typical) because the audience is dreamier than actionable. Travel-tip creators outperform destination-photo creators on engagement.
Fashion — Mid engagement (3-7% typical). Try-on hauls outperform flat-lay outfit posts. Sustainable-fashion sub-niche has the highest engagement floor in the vertical.
How to use this tool in a brand campaign workflow
Step 1: Define your niche and tier.Pick the vertical that matches your brand. Set min-followers based on your campaign type: micro-influencer campaigns target 10K-100K, mid-tier targets 100K-1M, top-tier targets 1M+.
Step 2: Set engagement floor. The industry baseline for “paid-quality engagement” on TikTok is 3% — anything below that suggests passive followers and weak conversion. For premium-rate campaigns, raise the floor to 5%+.
Step 3: Vet the shortlist with analytics. The niche finder gives you a ranked candidate list. Pop each candidate into our analytics tool for a deeper look at their engagement timeline, posting heatmap, top videos, and growth signals. Specifically watch the FYP burst rate trend in the growth tab — rising = algorithmic momentum (good campaign timing).
Step 4: Reach out with specifics.Reference their actual content (the analytics tool shows the top 10 by reach — mention 1-2 of those in your outreach) and propose a campaign that matches their format. Generic “hi we'd love to work with you” emails get ignored at 98%+ rates.
How creators should use this tool
Self-benchmarking. Add your handle as a custom seed (PRO). Where do you rank in the top 30 for your niche? If you're not in the top 30, study the top 10's content with the analytics tool — what hooks, formats, and hashtags do they use that you don't?
Niche-leader study. Run the finder for your vertical. Open the top 5's most-recent videos. What posting cadence do they share? What time of day do most of them publish? What recurring themes? Pattern-matching across the top 5 reveals the niche-wide formula that's working right now.
Cross-niche audience overlap.Sometimes the right play is to expand into an adjacent niche. A fitness creator might benefit from also being visible in education (form-correction videos) or comedy (gym-life skits). Run the finder for adjacent niches and study the creators successfully bridging both.
Limitations to be honest about
Curated seeds, not exhaustive search. We rank ~30 creators per niche, not millions. There are absolutely top-tier creators in each vertical we don't include. PRO's custom-seed feature partially mitigates this; full creator-database discovery requires the enterprise-grade tools mentioned above.
Engagement rate is point-in-time.The 24h-cached calculation is based on the most recent ~12 videos. A creator going through a cooldown period (or a hot streak) will look better or worse than their long-term average. For partnership decisions worth more than $5K, do the vetting deep-dive via the analytics tool, not just the niche-finder ranking.
Niche taxonomies are fuzzy. Where does a fitness creator who also does food belong? Both niches, ideally — but in practice we put each creator in their primary vertical. Cross-vertical creators may not appear in every relevant search.
Engagement varies by audience size.Micro-creators (under 50K) commonly hit 8-15% engagement; mega-creators (over 5M) often plateau at 1-3%. When comparing across very different sizes, normalize the engagement-rate expectations accordingly. A 2% engagement rate on a 10M-follower account is exceptional; a 2% engagement rate on a 50K-follower account is concerning.
Limitations
What our niche finder does not do
Honest about the constraints of curated discovery.
Curated seed list, not exhaustive
30 seeds per niche × 10 niches = ~300 unique creators. There are absolutely strong creators in each vertical we don't include — PRO's custom-seed feature lets you add them.
10 fixed niches
We support fitness, food, tech, beauty, comedy, dance, education, gaming, travel, fashion. Sub-niches (e.g. powerlifting within fitness) and emerging niches (e.g. AI-art) are not separated; they fall under the closest parent niche.
FREE caps at 3 results
Enough to spot the top of the niche but not enough for serious shortlisting. BASIC unlocks 10; PRO unlocks 30 + custom seeds. This is the explicit paywall hook for the page.
Engagement rate is point-in-time
Based on the most recent ~12 videos per creator. Cached 24h. A creator going through a temporary cooldown or hot streak may rank differently than their long-term average would suggest.
No audience demographics
We don't have access to age/gender/geo data for any creator's followers. Use the analytics tool's per-creator deep-dive for what's available; for full audience demographics, you'll need direct creator analytics or a paid creator-discovery suite.
No payment-rate estimates
We don't predict what a creator charges per sponsored post. Industry rate-cards depend on too many private factors (exclusivity, usage rights, geo). Reach out directly for current rates.
Curated seeds may shift over time
We periodically prune handles that go private or get banned. The seed list is not contractually fixed — we maintain it for relevance.

Frequently asked questions
How does the niche finder discover creators?+
We maintain a curated seed list of ~30 well-known public TikTok creators per niche (fitness, food, tech, beauty, comedy, dance, education, gaming, travel, fashion). When you pick a niche and filters, we fetch each seed's live profile + recent videos, compute engagement rate, then filter and rank by your criteria. PRO accounts can also append a custom seed username to expand the pool.
Why use seed lists instead of an open creator search?+
TikTok's public APIs don't expose a 'search creators by niche' endpoint. The seed-list approach gives reliable results from known representative creators in each vertical, which is more useful for benchmarking and competitive research than fishing through random accounts.
What does 'engagement %' mean in the ranking?+
Engagement rate is (likes + comments + shares per video) divided by total followers, expressed as a percentage. It normalizes for account size — a 100K-follower creator with 5K avg engagement scores higher than a 1M-follower creator with 8K avg engagement, because the smaller creator's audience is more actively engaged.
How are seeds chosen for each niche?+
We picked recognized public creators known for that vertical. The list isn't an endorsement, just a representative sample for the ranking algorithm. Roughly 30 per niche × 10 niches = ~300 unique creators in the curated pool. Periodically we prune handles that go private, get banned, or 404 in our cache.
Can I add my own creator to the search?+
Yes — the 'custom seed' field is a PRO-only feature. Drop in any TikTok handle and we'll fetch the profile, compute engagement, and merge them into the ranking pool alongside the curated seeds. Useful for benchmarking yourself or a niche-leader we haven't included.
Why are some results blurred for me?+
Tier caps. FREE accounts see the top 3 ranked creators clearly + the rest blurred with a 'Unlock with PRO' overlay. BASIC accounts see 10. PRO accounts see all 30. Engagement-rate ordering is the same across tiers — you just see fewer slots.
How fresh is the data?+
Profile data is cached for 1 hour (live re-fetch on cache miss). Engagement-rate calculations are cached for 24 hours per creator since these don't change meaningfully day-to-day. Both caches refresh automatically — no manual refresh needed.
Why don't I see micro-influencers (under 10K followers)?+
The seed list emphasizes mid-size to large creators because they're easier to verify as 'representative' for their niche. To find micro-influencers, drop the min-followers filter to 0 and use the engagement % filter aggressively (10%+); micro-influencers typically have higher engagement rates that will surface them.
What's the difference between this and analytics?+
Niche finder is a discovery tool — it answers 'who are the top creators in vertical X?' Analytics is a deep-dive on a specific account — it answers 'how is this individual creator performing?' Use niche finder to find candidates; use analytics to vet them before signing a partnership or studying their formula.
Are these creators paid placements?+
No. Seed creators are not endorsed, sponsored, or paid for inclusion. The list is curated based on genuine audience size and niche representation. We don't accept payment for inclusion or promotion.
How do I use this for competitor research?+
Pick your niche. Set min-followers to roughly your own count (so you compare to peers). Set min-engagement to 0. The top results are the creators outperforming your tier on engagement — study their content with the analytics tool to see what they're doing differently.
How do I use this for influencer marketing?+
Pick the niche your brand fits. Set min-followers to your campaign requirement (e.g. 100K for mid-tier, 1M for top-tier). Set min-engagement to at least 3% (industry baseline for paid-quality engagement). The ranked list is your shortlist — vet each via analytics before reaching out.
