# Get Instagram Unfollow Alerts in Telegram

> Instagram won't tell you who unfollowed. A tracker bot can send each change to Telegram as a message. How to set it up, how fast it is and where it stops.

## Can a Telegram bot tell you who unfollowed you on Instagram?

Yes, as long as the account is public. Instagram itself never notifies anyone about unfollows, but a tracker can read a public follower list on a schedule, compare it with the previous read and report who is missing. In [@instanavy_bot](https://t.me/instanavy_bot?start=web_blog), each of those changes arrives as an ordinary Telegram message that names the account. The tracker is part of the paid plans, which start from $4.99/month.

Every tracker of this kind works the same way: one full read of the list becomes the starting point, and each later read is compared with it. Manual methods are covered in [how to see who unfollowed you on Instagram](/blog/how-to-see-who-unfollowed-you-on-instagram), and the [follower tracker guide](/blog/instagram-follower-tracker-complete-guide) explains snapshots in detail. This article is about delivery: what reaches your Telegram chat, when, and with what limits. The [Instagram unfollowers tracker](/instagram-unfollowers-tracker) page has a short product overview.

## What the alerts look like

Each alert is a short message from the bot: a bold first line with the account name, then one line of detail. A named change in the follower list looks like this:

> **@yourname: followers changed**
>
> @anna.k started following, @mark_22 unfollowed

A change in who the tracked account follows looks like this:

> **@yourname: new activity**
>
> followed @citybakery and unfollowed @oldgym

A count change looks like this. It is also all you get when a list is too long to compare name by name (more on that below):

> **@yourname lost 3 followers**
>
> 1,204 → 1,201 followers

When several accounts change at once, the message gives a number instead of listing them, for example "4 unfollowed". Every alert has a "View" button that opens the matching page of the app inside Telegram. The same chat also gets new-story alerts for the accounts you track.

Alert texts are written in 13 languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Turkish, Arabic and Russian. Other languages get the English version.

## Why Telegram works well for this kind of alert

An unfollow alert is only useful if you see it. An app you rarely open, or an email folder you skim once a day, is an easy place to miss one. If Telegram is already where you read messages, the alert lands there too.

- **Nothing extra to install.** The bot's Open App button loads the full StoriesFly app inside Telegram, and you are signed in with your Telegram account automatically. There is no signup form, email or password.
- **The history stays in one chat.** Alerts are normal messages, so you can scroll back through them or search the chat for a username to see every alert that mentions it.
- **You control the noise with Telegram's own settings.** Mute the chat, or give it its own notification sound, the same way you would with any other chat.
- **The bot limits itself.** It sends at most 12 tracker alerts a day, and an identical alert repeated within an hour or two is dropped.

StoriesFly also works as a website, but there alerts have to reach you another way:

| Channel | What it needs | Where alerts land |
|---|---|---|
| Telegram (@instanavy_bot) | A Telegram account | Messages in the bot chat, each with a View button |
| Browser push | A website account and permission for the browser to show notifications | Notifications from that browser |
| Email | A website account with no Telegram connected and no working push | Your inbox |

Email is only the fallback for people who have neither Telegram nor browser push set up.

## How to set it up in @instanavy_bot

1. Open [@instanavy_bot](https://t.me/instanavy_bot?start=web_blog) and press Start. In Telegram search the bot appears under the name "StoryViewer - anonymous instagram story viewer tool", so searching for the @username is the easiest way to find it.
2. Tap the green Open App button. You are signed in with your Telegram account.
3. If you are not on Basic or Pro yet, pick a plan. You can pay with Telegram Stars, a Visa or Mastercard through Tribute, or crypto, all without leaving Telegram.
4. Go to Tracker (on a phone it is in the menu), type the public username you want to watch (your own or someone else's) and tap Add.
5. Close the app. From now on, alerts come to your chat with the bot.

The same page is also on the website as [the Tracker](/tracker). If you already use StoriesFly there with an email or Google account, you don't need a second account. The website offers a Connect Telegram button after you sign in. It opens the bot with a one-time link that is valid for 30 minutes, and once it is connected, your alerts go to Telegram.

## How fast the alerts arrive

Tracked accounts are checked on a schedule, not in real time, so there is always some delay before a count change shows up. The exact wait depends on your plan and how busy the queue is. Names take longer: to say who left, the tracker has to read the whole list again, and on a long list that can take a day or more.

Two more things follow from how any list-comparing tracker works:

- **The first read is a baseline.** Nothing is reported for unfollows that happened before you added the account, because there is no earlier list to compare with.
- **Quick reversals can slip through.** If someone unfollows and follows again between two reads, both reads show the same list and there is nothing to report.

## Plans and account-size limits

The tracker needs a paid plan. The plans differ in how many accounts you can track and how long a list the tracker will compare name by name:

| | Basic | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Accounts you can track | 1 | 5 |
| Following list compared by name | up to 300 | up to 3,000 |
| Follower list compared by name | up to 1,500 | up to 3,500 |
| Shared by all your accounts together | 300 following, 1,500 followers | 3,000 following, 7,000 followers |

If a list is longer than that, the tracker still watches the account but compares only the counts. You would get "@name lost 12 followers" without the names. A creator with 20,000 followers, for example, gets follower counts only on either plan.

Plans start from $4.99/month, and prices can be lower in some countries. The [pricing page](/pricing) shows what applies to you. Monthly plans paid with Stars renew from your Stars balance and can be cancelled at any time with /cancel in the bot. Payments can be refunded within 3 days through support.

## Tracking an account that isn't yours

The tracker works with any public account, not only your own. For someone else's account, the following-list alerts show who that account starts or stops following, which is useful for keeping an eye on a competitor or a brand you work with.

Private accounts cannot be tracked, because their follower and following lists are visible only to approved followers. And watching one person's every new follow can drift from monitoring into something less healthy. If you are not sure which side of that line you are on, [the difference between stalking and monitoring](/blog/instagram-stalking-vs-monitoring-difference) is worth reading first.

## What to check before using any unfollow bot

Whichever service you choose, ask these questions first:

- **Does it ask for your Instagram password?** It should not. Reading public follower lists does not need your login, and handing it over puts your account at risk. StoriesFly signs you in only with Telegram, an emailed code or Google.
- **Does it say which accounts it can read?** Public accounts only is the honest answer.
- **Does it describe timing plainly?** Lists are read on a schedule, so there is always some delay, and a good service says how much to expect.
- **Does it say what happens with big accounts?** Comparing long lists name by name is expensive, so look for a stated limit.
- **Does it explain how to cancel and get a refund?** You should be able to find both before you pay.

## FAQ

### Is there a free Instagram unfollow tracker bot?

The tracker in @instanavy_bot is paid, from $4.99/month. Without paying, the option is manual: compare your follower list with an earlier copy yourself, which is realistic only for small accounts.

### Will the person know I'm tracking them?

Instagram does not send a notification when someone reads a public follower list. The tracker also never uses your Instagram account, so nothing happens under your name.

### Why didn't I get an alert for someone who unfollowed last week?

Most often the unfollow happened before your first read, which only sets the baseline. It can also be a list longer than your plan compares by name, in which case you get a count change without names, or a name check that is still running.

### Do I need to give my Instagram password?

No. StoriesFly never asks for an Instagram login or password. In Telegram you are signed in with your Telegram account, and on the website you can use an emailed code or Google.

### Can I track a private account?

No. Private follower lists are visible only to approved followers. For a private account you can turn on the free "Tell me when it goes public" alert, which re-checks the account about once a week for up to six months and messages you in Telegram if it goes public.
